Posted by admin in Travel

Madrid is the capital of Spain.  Many contend that this became a reality base on the geographical location alone, as Madrid is located in Iberia’s center.  However, geographically speaking, the temperature fluctuations throughout the summer and winter months are extreme.  The summers are excruciatingly hot, and the winters are bitterly cold.  The city exists in a vast and wide open plain.  The governmental seat of Spain was established in Madrid in 1561.  Rulers that continued on after Felipe II were dedicated to the promotion of this strong and centrally located capital city, ensuring the future development and survival of the city.  This is actually one of the newer Spanish cities, historically speaking, not yet filled with the tradition and the culture of other Andalusian and Castillian villages.  This does not imply however, that Madrid has not been heroic or influential in the role that it has played in the history of Spain.  This city held off air bombardments and attacks for more than two years during the Spanish Civil War.

In current times the region and the life of those living within it, revolve around Madrid.  Artistic culture and determination, so often blooms out of disarray and discontent and this is true in this city as well. The Madrid best hotels will guide travelers to one of the many museums and galleries that has made this Spanish city so famous.  In fact, for all the art produced and exhibited in the country, Madrid is the one city that is synonymous with an abundance of galleries.  There are many restaurants located within, traditional bull-fighting in the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium, and an incredibly fun night life.  There are many theaters that line the streets and Madrid has long been recognized as the location to see some of the most innovative and thrilling shows of Flamenco dance.  There are monuments that honor the city’s past as well as public parks that provide the venue to release some of that past.  This is one of the many cities throughout the country that is steeped in cultural history and the rich heritage that has shaped the development of Spain and her people.
