Okay, I just returned home from a Super Bowl party, I know, I and a million other people, right? Anyway, this was a mellow, as mellow as a Super Bowl can be, party and it only included a few family and friends. It was also my brother’s birthday so we incorporated his celebration into the whole event. Meanwhile, the most significant thing about today for me was that I was attending a Super Bowl party and was the only New Orleans fan in the house. And I am not exaggerating or kidding. The pre-game party was fun and we had a lot food like sandwiches, pizza and chips and stuff. We also played some Texas Hold’em, which is a popular game in my family. In fact, I can honestly say I grew up playing cards and have thought about trying my hand professionally, but it’s really just been a great casual and standard for fun only game with me. Who knows, though, maybe one day. Of course though I won’t if you base my professional potential on this afternoon, but I had a lot of bad beats, you know?
Anyway, so we’re playing cards, eating food and I’m losing money and the Colts are favored for the game. I was having fun but things didn’t look good for me. And then once the game started, the Colts seemed to be outplaying the Saints a bit though fortunately the score stayed close. It was actually a pretty tame Super Bowl. There wasn’t any brawling or major controversies and there also relatively few penalties. And everyone there was having a great time until the Saints took the lead and then things got interesting, for me anyway. And what was incredible was the interceptions that Manning threw toward the end of the game. It was an unfortunate way to seal the deal, but still, it got the job done. And the New Orleans Saints won the Super Bowl for the first time. I couldn’t celebrate until I got home and called my friend in Tucson, but dang, that was a nice victory. And I’m sure there were plenty of hotel room parties following the game today.
