Video arcades were dominant in the 1980s and the 90s saw a major leap forward in the technology of home video games. Elaborate home game rooms took the place of the mall arcades and video games continue to become more advanced as technology continues expand.
With the advent of the Internet online games and downloads are extremely common and part of the everyday life for millions of people. And the interactive websites that allow for users from around the world to develop an avatar and play together are one of the common obsessions across the globe .
So, will all of this game technology bring people together or cause greater rifts in cultural divides? Well, it’s extremely unlikely that either of those matters are the concerns of video game enthusiasts or even their developers. Game Software downloads will probably be popular no matter what the state of global politics and gamers are likely to play with anyone who is willing. And it really doesn’t matter to most players if their teammate or opponents are next door or across the world.
