There are some really great museums in the Greensboro North Carolina area. They have something for everyone to enjoy. If you have kids check out the Greensboro Children’s Museum . They are going to have a great time pretending to go to work or clean house in the Our Town area. This is a town that is the perfect size for kids complete with store fronts, businesses, homes, churches and other things to make them feel like they are living in their own town. The get to be the adult for the day. There is a market where they can really buy food. There is a pizza place were they can make pizza for people. There is a theater where they can put on plays or simply be the audience. The day just goes on with endless interactive exhibits that make this such a kid paradise.

If there is a NASCAR fan and namely a Richard Petty fan than they may want to check out the Richard Petty Museum . This museum is filled with many items that are from the whole Petty family line. See how the family got started in auto racing with Lee Petty and then how the family turned it into a major racing empire. There are lots of trophies, cars and crash photos to remember the good old days. They have a store for getting something to remember the visit with.

Not far from the hotels, Greensboro has there is the Greensboro Historical Museum . This is a great place to come and find out how the area started and evolved.  You can learn and see some of the items from some of the  people who shaped the area like North Carolina Governor John Motley Morehead. Walk through the McNairy House that was built in the 1700s. The Crystal Theatre is showing vintage moving pictures. This is a lovely museum that takes you back to different time.

For any new theater company, it always seems like there’s gotta be another city out there where it’s easier. There are more disciplined actors who don’t flake out, a tech scene where the workers are artists that people want to hang out with, and there are larger audiences. The audiences are also rich, even if it’s modestly so, and have been waiting for the opportunity to find a group of talented people they could support with their extra disposable income.

In some places, it might be true, or maybe that’s just what it seems like to anyone who’s been to Berlin, but for now, the cities that are in the country and have a theatre scene at all, can’t run on full steam. Steam is too expensive, and it’s hard everywhere, but, there are some people in Portland who have an idea that’s been done before, but worked before.

The artistic team at Hand2Mouth Theater has been here since 2000, and they’ve been breaking barriers in the city for bringing inspired and inspiring new work that has all the trappings of something new. Beneath the surface, Jonathan Winters vision proves that there is a great deal of substance, and that this might actually work.

He’s been working with his peeps to start building coalitions between Portland and the itinerant theaters in Seattle. The idea is to create a network that’s mutually fulfilling, where companies can trade back and forth, touring one show in both cities. They also work on bringing their shows together as a package, sharing costs, to get to cities like NY, where the work might have a chance at reaching a larger audience. It’s all looking very positive. In the best of times, excited audiences might become groupies, seeing them in town, staying a night or two at the Portland boutique hotels , and then following them on to the next city. It’s a big dream, but this one deserves to grow.

Eating through Cajun country should start in Lafayette, Louisiana, which can serve up the best, genuine Cajun and Creole dishes. At the same time Lafayette offers the best in Japanese cuisine this side of the Mississippi. Two totally different dishes, but two totally awesome tastes.

Shinto, located at 3810 Amassador Caffery Parkway is Lafayette’s best sushi/hibachi grill restaurant in the city. The place is usually packed, which means in terms of food, everything on the menu is great. Shinto’s has the freshest sushi and their Haley rolls and the crunchy rolls with shrimp are the locals most favorite sushi dish. The Saki is a nice, relaxing touch. If you sit up at the counter to watch the sushi chef, you’ll also be able to watch a sports game on their huge flat screen TV. The entire staff is refreshingly friendly and professional and the ambiance is causal and relaxed, which is perfect for Lafayette.

As for the best in Cajun, you won’t want to pass up Bonefish Grill . Hands down the best Cajun in all of Louisiana. At Bonefish: the specials don’t stop at the food; special is the feel of a big city bar that’s not far from the best hotels Lafayette provides; it’s a wood-burning grill that swaps out boredom and routine for a dinner that will open your eyes; it’s a chef-coat service that’s not about being stuffy, but it’s all about knowing what the customer needs; it’s feeling good about the food, the people eating at the tables next to you, and the bill every time you walk through the door; because at Bonefish Grill, special isn’t something that comes around once a year, it’s something you’ll find there every night of the week. Bonefish is a unique dinning experience from the moment you walk through the door. You’ll notice that the dining is polished and casual at the same time. They will share everything that they are doing to bring you the most innovative and freshest trends in food and bar. They’ll also give you tips for creating dishes and drinks at home, plus provide you with Fish Facts and general thoughts on healthy living.

Of course, there are many other great restaurants in Lafayette , but why waste your precious time trying to figure out which one’s to go to, when Shinto’s and Bonefish Grill will please any foodies desires.

There are many areas to explore in the state of Oregon. From the coastal beaches and towns to the inland mountain ranges and all that lies between, visitors will find many beautiful areas to spend their vacation time. In every area of the state, visitors will also find the best hotels in oregon to rest their head after the long days of exploration.

The coastal areas have some nice attractions. Take a walk out to the Sea Lion Caves . The cave is twelve stories high and is about a long as a football field. It is filled with the sweet sleepy sea lions as the water rushes in with the waves. Visitors will also have a chance to see other marine life with sea birds and even a whale. Then there is also the Oregon Coast Aquarium to add to the experience. It is also quite the watery maze of many fish, rays, sharks and other sea life in a great atmosphere.

The Willamette Valley Region has some great things going on. This is a large contributor to Oregon’s wine industry. There are some fantastic Pinot noir and Riesling wines coming out of Oregon these days. Check out some of the wineries while you are passing through. One of my favorites is the Argyle Winery with their great Pinot noir and chardonnay varieties. This area also has some thrilling river adventures with the Oregon Whitewater Adventures. They offer up some fun half day and full day guided trips on their big paddle rafts. The rapids can reach a class 4 in difficulty, class 5 being the most challenging, so hold onto your hat and hang on.

All along your trip there were be some history lessons but in the southern region there is the Applegate Trail Interpretive Center which gives a great over view of the history of the pioneers, native Indians, the gold rush and logging industries and so many other stories that shaped this beautiful state.

Chicago is the home of the tallest building in North America. It was known for many years as the Sears Tower and today it is now known as the Willis Tower Deck  . The Willis Tower has a great observation deck that is open to the public. The building has 110 stories and the deck is on the 103rd story. Visitors can feel the building swaying in the wind and on a clear day they can see over to other states like Indiana, Michigan and Wisconsin. The elevators really zip up from the bottom floor with it taking only 60 seconds to reach the deck. The deck has been renovated with new glass balconies that peek out over Wacker Drive giving the a chance to look through the floor. There are some great stories with this building, one of them is about a French climber. Alain Robert climbed the side of the building from the bottom to the top using his bare hands and feet along the glass and steel wall. The real Spiderman.

Though it is a little lower than the Willis Tower the John Hancock Center is another great place to catch the view of the city. You may even be able to see the many luxury hotels chicago has through out the city. Maybe even yours. This building is the sixth tallest building in the U.S.. It houses offices, restaurants and condo’s. The restaurants give a great view of Lake Michigan while they dine and the observation deck gives views to of the city and the Willis Tower across town. David Schwimmer is the voice of the audio guide which explains what one can see. This building does set a record the highest something in America. The highest indoor swimming pool in the 44th floor.

There are plenty of other great views of Chicago these are just the tallest ones.

There are some really great museums in Atlanta filled with many modern creations and historical stories. This is a city and state that has a very rich history in many major events of the development of America. Atlanta, its self, is a real blend of people because of the many big companies that have their home based out of the city today. The museums are filled with all the culture, creativity and life stories that have fallen into the city and the world beyond its borders.

One of the great modern museums in Atlanta is the High Museum of Art . It is an award winning classic and contemporary art museum as well as an architecture and other modern design museum. It opened in 1926 in a house on Peachtree Street and is now in large modern building that has architecture Merritt of its own. The Meier Building is considered to be one of the ten best works of American architecture by the American Institute of Architects in 1980. One of the current exhibits of great design is the Allure of the Automobile exhibit. It features 18 of the rarest and most amazing cars in the world. The craftsmanship is meticulous by some of the highest quality car makers in the world.

Another great museum of big ideas is the World of Coca Cola . This is another history lesson into one of the worlds most known drink products. Learn how they got their world known name since they started in 1916. Visitors will tour a bottling plant with the chance to take home a free bottle of one of 60 different products available. This is a business lesson on how to make a brand name truly global. They have a 4 D Theater with the moving seats synced up with a 3D movie.

Your City of Atlanta hotel  will help you get to many of the amazing museums available. They all have such historical gifts to share.

If you’re traveling to a hotel in the Punta Cana area of the Dominican Republic, you may have already heard about Punta Cana Mike and his fellow partner, Dominican Dave. If not, it seems as if these two might be good to know on any vacation to this part of the Caribbean. The pair run Punta Cana Mike’s Dominican Adventure , a business for vacationers who wish to learn a little more about the local culture that goes beyond resort style living. Punta Cana Mike’s from Canada, while Dominican Dave is originally from England; however, both have roots in Punta Cana.

The tours Mike and Dave offer are for small groups, generally from two to nine people, and each outing can be designed for the indivdiual. These tours take you to serene beaches not often seen by tourists, to eat fish caught in small fishing villages, to go to local sporting events, concerts, and shopping.

Over the last few years, PC Mike has been a representative for several resorts, but always felt best when he was out with friends, showing them the best parts of the area which most people don’t get to see. Because the feedback he got from these trips was positive, he decided to give this opportunity to everyone, opening it up to the public.

Comments from customers voiced their disappointment with commercial, big truck tours. A tour with Dave elicited comments about the comfort of the van, the intimate nature of the tour (with only four people), and how the stops at a school, a cigar factory, a market, supermarket, cathedral and beach, all allowed for the customer to learn about the local area.

On the excursion, you’ll hear about the cigar industry and its background on the island, even learn how to play Dominoes Dominican style in a relaxed atmosphere in the local community and meet the Dominican people. Another group of tourists noted how a stop at a local school allowed them to interact with the children of the community, where students sang songs for the small group — something unlikely to happen in a large crowd of tourists. In you want to learn something extra about Punta Cana, then taking a tour by Punta Cana Mike or Dominican Dave seems to be an excellent choice.

Traveling is one of the favorite activities for many people across the nation, and once a person is exposed to their first foreign country, the travel bug frequently manifests and remains with them for life. In fact, for those who love to travel, a certain amount of money is deducted from their annual income to account for their seasonal trip expenses. And while some people, those who have never gone anywhere, claim that they would love to but they just can’t afford it, people who love to travel would gladly cut out their daily trip to the coffee shop , or one night out a week or similar sacrifice to ensure the money was there for their trip. This brings us to the second element of many travelers’ orientation and that is to find the latest and greatest vacation destination, or the most obscure and unknown paradise.

Whichever extreme, or both, is on their agenda, finding someplace new is always a great adventure. And for all of those travelers, information about the country of Montenegro is just the gold mine they are looking for in great destinations. Not only is the coastal area on the Adriatic Sea a beautiful region that is romantic, peaceful, harmonic and relaxing, there are also towns that have a great nightlife and fabulous club scene to enhance, and for some people, make the experience. The hotel staff in Montenegro resorts will be more than happy to offer information on the various beaches and club scenes that are found along the coastline as well as some of the great geographical elements and popular destinations on the interior of the country. The country really offers something for everyone, from great snow skiing opportunities north of the capital city of Podgorica, to the beautiful beaches near Budva and other coastal towns. There is also a growing interest by internationally famous musicians and bands to perform major concerts on Jaz beach.

Well they Dolphins who live in the water along the coast of Florida have inspired so many people over the years that they even named a major sports team after them, the Miami Dolphins . As a visitor it is always great to catch a Miami Dolphin football game while vacationing in the city. Maybe you decided to schedule your trip around your favorite football team playing against the Dolphins in Miami. Many people do. But when the game is over it is time to check out the beautiful dolphins in the water.

You can check with the beach side hotel that your staying at and to learn where to catch the dolphins. If you are on a boat they will find you since playing with boats is a fun game for them but if you want a better view of them you may want to check with the Miami Seaquarium . They have a great interactive view with many beautiful wild life. Bring your swim suit along because you can swim with the dolphins here. They also have great views of Seals, Wales, Sea Turtles, Manatees and many other smaller fish. They also have some of the sea side birds to enjoy.

The Theater of the Sea is also a great place to swim with Dolphins, Sea Lions and Stingrays in man made lagoons. They love to educate the willing with all sorts of great details and stories on the marine animals. They have been around since 1946 and pride themselves on giving some grand performances with their marine friends. This place is the second oldest marine life facility in the world. It has grown from being just a salt water railroad quarry in the early 1900′s, to a lagoon filled with lots of mammal life on 17 acres of tropical land today. Its a little farther from Miami but it is a wonderful experience. Some see some wonderful things in a tropical paradise.

This is the city, this is the place. The one where those locked up visions that were kept in a trunk for so long, where they would gather dust until the end of the days, suddenly open and suddenly the things that were meant to be forgotten come into light. Sometimes the light here is too bright, where the clarity of thought is only eclipsed by the visibility of its roots. It can be an uncomfortable moment, and one that recedes into absurdity as the sounds from the canal begin to sound like something else. Another memory opened, and another sense comes to play.

There is almost a jealousy that comes when the moment upon waking in a lovely hotel , and realizing that this is Amsterdam , and is even better than was once imagined. It has the appeal of a city that’s on the edge of a new future, and it also has the appeal of a city where free thought reigns and every step is taken to explore consciousness. But it’s also a place where one can learn to see, because the light here is more exceptional than anywhere else on the planet.

Perhaps that’s an exaggeration, but it’s also true, if one happens to be looking for this particular kind of light. It is legendary, and has caught more than one artist by the edges of their imagination, and still requires that anyone walking in town learn to see, and sometimes to see for the very first time.

Werner Herzog, one of the most famous directors in the world, has a reputation for his obsession with light. Among other things. He has several obsessions running at all times, and some of these are related to light, and others to a kind of naughtiness, the kind that would lead him to release rodents during a film shoot, even despite the denial of a permit to do so. When he chose the nearby town of Delft for Nosferatu, it was the light that he had in mind. He sometimes spends months on a shoot, waiting for the golden hour, and this city offers visitors a sense of what that feels like when one looks at it.
